Contacting Clients

Whilst speaking to Steve on Wednesday I asked him if I could use my own company as a client and he said I could which is good because we could do with some professional shots for the company profile, promotion and websites.  I run a small company in Swadlincote near Burton on Trent.  The company is Marquee Sales and Gate Automation Sales to the trade and public both run under the same limited company Proforme UK Limited.  It is a small company but sales are worldwide reaching mainly Europe but as far as Australia, Africa and the Caribbean.

The two main websites are http://www.marquee-sale.co.uk/ for Marquee Sales and http://www.proforge.com/ for Gate Automation sales.  The images for the Gate Automation website have been given to us by our suppliers with consent so there is no copyright issues and they have been used on the website.  Marquees are more difficult as these are all imported direct from China so any images have to be taken ourselves or our suppliers whilst the products are being tested in the factory.

I have just telephoned a friend of mine who has just set up her own business which specailises in laser hair removel.  The company is New You IPL Clinic and is based in Leicester.  They would like some professional shots taken of the salon for the website, company profile and gallery.  I have asked her to think about what she would like to acheive and I will contact her again next week to arrange a meeting.

I will contact Elite Handling on Monday as they are only open during office hours.  Elite Handling are a logistics company based in Nottingham who provide warehouse and transport solutions.

Ok better get on with some research as I have no idea what I am doing.................!

Work so far ...........

I am in the first year of the Foundation Degree and the only work I have done before now is the work I did during my level 1 and level 2 City and Guilds.

I once did a shoot for my cousins who are in a band and needed some photographs for promotion and their website.  We used Green Screen Technology and a borrowed lighting kit in their house and since none of us really knew what we were doing and space was really limited we got there in the end.  I also did some photographs for a friends wedding a couple of months ago which I enjoyed.  It was all very relaxed as she did not want lots of formal photographs just a few candid shots taken throughout the day which was really nice for me to gain some confidence and experience.

Assignment Title - Client Response

The aim of this assignment is to source and contact live clients to provide photography work on a free basis, which will help in gaining experience and networking within the work industry.  The experience would be in the form contacting respective clients and working together with them to ensure that their needs are met in the form of the work provided.  Working together with live companies and industries will provide networking which could provide future work opportunities.

The assignment will require the student to meet with the client and find out the work to be undertaken and provide the work to a agreed timescale.  All work will need to be logged on our blogs including times, dates and notes.

The work must meet the learning outcomes set out in the assignment and these need to be used as labels on your work to ensure that all outcomes are covered within the assignment.
